Adventures of a Single Girl…

The Sporting Globe – Moonee Ponds

If you’re in the northern suburbs, it can be hard to find somewhere casual for a date. It’s full of family restaurants which are lit up like someone’s home dining room, and that’s generally far too lit for a date, especially a first date.

The Sporting Globe is the sort of place you should go with someone you’re just feeling out, or are already well established with. I went with a guy I’d been dating for a while. We didn’t need to impress each other, just have a good meal and a good night out.

Wednesday night is Trivia night, and that’s held out the back in a section separated from the front bar. They do it with electronic equipment. Even if you get there later, but want to sit out there, you can hear the questions and have your own private debates with your date. And, they have booths, so you’re not sitting on top of other diners.

Plus, a booth provides just enough privacy to have a little smoochy smooch when you want it.

The menu consists mainly of burgers, wedges, parmas, sports bar food!! Perfect if that’s your thing. I got to order my fave type of wedges, with cheese and bacon. My date hadn’t had them before but he sure helped me demolish them. Two happy daters there.

Plus, they serve my fave beverage, so this girl just couldn’t be happier.

Defo recommended if sporting venues is your thing.
